Woodhaven has three State Senators.

One of them, Mike Gianaris, will be coming to Woodhaven on Wednesday – holding mobile office hours, looking to meet and greet the residents of Woodhaven.  He will be at:

The Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association

Please feel free to stop by!  If you are having an issue that needs attention — stop by to see Mike. He is new to Woodhaven and he really wants to hear about the community.

So, going back to our original question — off the top of your head, do you know who your State Senator is? Maybe this map will help you — Woodhaven has been divided into 3 districts, shown in the map below.

Crime Tip: Safeguarding Your Vehicle At The Pump

August 8, 2013

CA

When you pull into the gas station make sure you survey your surroundings and are aware who is in the area. Try to pick Stations that are well-lit and have video-surveillance cameras at the pump.Pick a pump with care. It might be worthwhile to wait for a pump nearest to the attendant or building. When you get out of your vehicle to get gas even if paying at the pump lock your doors, roll up your windows and make sure you remove your keys from the ignition. While you are paying with your credit/debit card at the pump a thief can run up to the passenger side of your car open the door and remove your property.   Thieves prey on victims who are distracted and turn their backs to the vehicle to pay at the pump.  The victim does not even realize that anything is missing until they have left the gas station.
