State Senator Mike Gianaris Holds Mobile Office Hours in Woodhaven Wednesday from 3 to 6 PM

Who is your State Senator? If you live in Woodhaven, the answer depends on which part of Woodhaven you live in.  Because we don’t have just one State Senator.  We don’t even just have two State Senators.

Woodhaven has three State Senators.

One of them, Mike Gianaris, will be coming to Woodhaven on Wednesday – holding mobile office hours, looking to meet and greet the residents of Woodhaven.  He will be at:

The Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association

84-20 Jamaica Avenue

Wednesday August 28th from 3 to 6 PM.

Please feel free to stop by!  If you are having an issue that needs attention — stop by to see Mike. He is new to Woodhaven and he really wants to hear about the community.

So, going back to our original question — off the top of your head, do you know who your State Senator is? Maybe this map will help you — Woodhaven has been divided into 3 districts, shown in the map below.

Here are Woodhaven’s 3 State Senators:

From Wikipedia:

Section 1 – Michael N. “Mike” Gianaris (born April 23, 1970)[1] is an American politician from Queens, New York. He represents New York’s 12th State Senate district, which includes the Queens neighborhoods of Astoria, Long Island City, Sunnyside and parts of Woodside, Maspeth, Ridgewood and Woodhaven.  If you are WEST of 80th Street in Woodhaven (from 80th to Brooklyn), Mike Gianaris is your State Senator.

Section 2 – Joseph P. Addabbo Jr. is an American politician, a Democratic member of the New York State Senate from the 15th District representing Howard Beach, Ozone Park, Woodhaven, Glendale, Middle Village, Maspeth and parts of South Ozone Park, Ridgewood, Woodside and The Rockaways.  If you are EAST of 80th Street, Joe Addabbo is your State Senator – except for the section south of Jamaica Avenue and east of Woodhaven Boulevard.

Section 3 – James Sanders Jr. (born 1957) is a member of the New York State Senate, serving since January 2013. He represents the 10th Senatorial District, which includes the Queens neighborhoods of Richmond Hill, South Ozone Park, Jamaica, Rochdale Village, Rosedale and parts of Far Rockaway.  If you live in the corner of Woodhaven east of the Boulevard and south of Jamaica Avenue, James Sanders is your State Senator.

So, remember — Senator Mike Gianaris will be at the WRBA 84-20 Jamaica Avenue Wednesday, August 28th from 3 to 6 PM.
