Woodhaven Family Needs Your Help

October 23, 2015

There was a fire earlier this week at 91-34 84th Street in Woodhaven. Thankfully, there were no injuries – but between the fire, the smoke, the water, the family lost everything.

They have secured temporary housing and are working with the Red Cross and hope to return to Woodhaven soon.

In the meantime, we are looking to help by collecting some clothing for them – if you have some clean used clothing at home, please bring them to the Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association (84-20 Jamaica Avenue) on Saturday or Sunday, from 9 AM to 12 PM.

Here are the sizes – please, we will only be accepting these sizes

  • The Parents are Adult Medium.
  • The daughter is a Medium (teenager).
  • The son is also Medium (teenager) – size 10/12.

Note: Many thanks to Chris Flood for bringing this to our attention – the Flood family has been in Woodhaven for years and is known to many. The boy in the family affected by the fire is in Chris Flood’s Boy Scout Troop and is a volunteer at the Woodhaven Cemetery Cleanups.
