** Noise Complaints – Now that the warmer weather is arriving, so are the noise complaints. If you are having issues with a noisy neighbor, please remember to call 311 (or enter the complaint online) and pass along the 311# to the WRBA so we can keep track of it and follow up on it with the 102nd Precinct.
** Spring Recycling Event – It’s time for Mike Miller and Joe Addabbo’s annual spring recycling event in the Forest Park Bandshell Parking Lot. It’s Sunday, April 30th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Click here for more info (see bonus coverage by clicking here).

** Women in Politics Breakfast – Come out and meet residents with an interest in politics and increasing the participation of women in the political process. This will be held on Saturday, May 13th at 10 AM at Emanuel United Church of Christ, 93-12 91st Avenue (at the corner of 91st Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard). Tickets are $20 ($10 for kids). ** Forest Park Memorial Drive Dedication Ceremony – At 12 Noon on Saturday, May 20th, Forest Park Drive will be co-named Forest Park Memorial Drive, in honor of the many soldiers that sacrificed their lives for our country. This ceremony will take place at Oak Ridge, right in the midst of the Memorial Trees of Woodhaven. Details of this ceremony coming soon. ** Emanuel’s 140th Anniversary Party – Emanuel United Church of Christ is celebrating their 140th Anniversary with an old fashioned pasta party – with old fashioned prices! ** Memorial Day Ceremonies – Memorial Day is Monday, May 29th. The GWDC/WBID will be holding their annual ceremony on the evening of Thursday, May 25th at Forest Parkway. And American Legion Post 118 will be holding their annual ceremony at their headquarters (89-02 91st Street) on Memorial Day morning. As soon as we have the exact times we will pass them along.
** Historical Society Party at Forest Park Carousel – The WCHS is hosting their 2nd Annual Party at the Carousel Friday, June 23rd from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. For $10 kids get unlimited rides and a free magic show. Plus! Lots of good raffle prizes for kids to win.

** 87th Street Debate at CB9 – What to do about the traffic outside St. Thomas the Apostle was discussed at the WRBA March Town Hall meeting and this past week it reached Community Board 9 (who voted unanimously against turning 87th Street into a one-way street). ** Basement Apartment Debate Continues – The debate over legalizing basement apartment continues – click here to read more about it.
** Great Woodhaven Yard Sale 2017 – The GWYS is scheduled for Saturday September 23rd. Houses from all over Woodhaven will be participating and will be included on maps distributed online and all over Woodhaven. People have started to come from all over to the GWYS – let us drive the traffic to your door! Email now to register! And tell your neighbors! Our experience has been that ‘clusters’ of homes end up doing much better the day of the GWYS.
** Earth Day at the Cemetery Click here to view April Highlights at the Wyckoff-Snedicker family cemetery on 96th Street. This month, Earth Day was celebrated with leaf composting, grass growing, and flower planting – all the kids attending received good lessons on maintaining Mother Earth.
