** Our Top Stories:

** Town Hall Meeting – Our next Town Hall will be Saturday August 16th 10AM at Emanuel United Church of Christ (corner of 91st Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard).  Catch up on our last meeting here. Please take note of the early start time – start your day with a Town Hall meeting and have the rest of the day for Summer activities.
** Billy Joel Tribute – It’s late notice, but there is a Billy Joel Tribute at the bandshell this evening starting at 7:30 PM.  Please note that the Carousel will remain open after the concert until 9:30 PM. We hope to see you there!
** Woodhaven Graffiti Cleanup – Last week, 2 residents went around painting mailboxes, click here to see some results. The next graffiti cleanup will be on Sunday, August 10th at 10 AM. We need volunteers – contact the WRBA at info@woodhaven-nyc.org or call 718-296-3735 and leave a message (and a way to contact you).  (Read more about our efforts to fight graffitihere – more info coming soon).

** Woodhaven Slashing Story – You may have seen a story in the paper about a woman who was slashed at the J/Z Station. The WRBA questioned the story and, sure enough, it turned out that the slashing actually took place in Elmhurst (click here). The victim, however, is a Woodhaven resident – we have tried unsuccessfully to reach her. If anyone knows her, please let her know we are here to help in any way we can.
** WDHVN 11421 T-Shirts Available – For the past few years, the WRBA has sold the very popular WDHVN 11421 T-Shirts at the Street Fair.  We have a limited supply of leftover stock – if you are interested you can order them here (on a first ordered-first severed basis).  Click here to order.
** Woodhaven Residents Annual Celebration – The WRBA’s Annual Dinner Dance is scheduled for Friday October 10th (that’s 10/10 — easy to remember!) and will be held this year at Roma View Catering.  Flash!  A formal announcement on our honorees will be made soon – but we can tell you that Lewis’ of Woodhaven will be inducted into our Hall of Fame. Click here for more info or purchase tickets.
