** Grand OlFlag – And here’s another little blast of patriotism for the 4th – St. Thomas the Apostle’s Annual Flag Day Celebration.
** Town Hall Meeting – Our next Town Hall will be Saturday July 19th 10AM at Emanuel United Church of Christ (corner of 91st Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard). Please take note of the early start time – start your day with a Town Hall meeting and have the rest of the day for Summer activities
** Thank You From The Royals – Each year, the WRBA (through your donations) sponsors a team in WORKS Little League, the “WRBA Royals” a group of 4 & 5 year-olds. At our last Town Hall meeting, we collected donations to take them on a ride at the Forest Park Carousel. Click here to see the big smiles your investment generated!

** Woodhaven Cemetery Cleanup – The Woodhaven Historical Society and STA’s Woodhaven History Club are inviting everyone to take part in a cleanup of the Wyckoff-Snedicker Family Cemetery on Saturday, July 12th starting at 9 AM. This is a unique opportunity to visit a historic location and take part in its well being. Click here for details on how to sign up.
** Free Basketball Camp – Queens Tabernacle on 96th Street is sponsoring a Free 5-Day Basketball Camp the week of Monday July 21st. Click here for details.

** No Cost Digital Mammograms & Clinical Breast Exams
 – A Mobile Care Clinic will be in front of Queens County Savings Bank (corner of Woodhaven Boulevard & Jamaica Avenue) on Thursday, July 24 from 9 AM to 4 PM. This is sponsored in the memory of Ginny Campione, click here for requirements, call 1-877-628-9090 for an appointment. ** Blood Drive at Emanuel – There will be a Blood Drive at Emanuel United Church of Christ on Saturday, July 26th from 9 AM to 4 PM. Giving blood saves lives!
** The Great Woodhaven Yard Sale 2014 – Back by popular demand the WRBA will be sponsoring The Great Woodhaven Yard Sale again in 2014.  Last year over 60 families participated with a good number reporting sales of well over $100 — this year we’re aiming for 100 participating households. The 2014 Great Woodhaven Yard Sale will be on Saturday, September 27, from 9AM to 4PM (rain date Sunday, September 28, same times). Click here to register.
** Save the Date! Woodhaven Residents Celebration & Fundraiser – The WRBA’s Annual Dinner Dance is scheduled for Friday October 10th (that’s 10/10 — easy to remember!) and will be held this year at Roma View Catering. Who will be honored this year? Stay tuned – big announcements are coming soon!

** Muni Meter Warning – The NYPD has issued a warning about thieves who use skimming devices at muni meters. Those who use debit or credit cards to pay for their parking should be on alert. Find out more here.
** Bus Countdown Clocks – During the Participatory Budgeting process, residents voted to bring 8 new bus countdown clocks to Woodhaven. Read more about them here.
** Woodhaven Teen Remembered – Teachers at the High School for Construction Trades, Engineering and Architecture teachers raised funds for a scholarship in the name of Roman Pirozek and have announced the first recipient, click here for details.
