Woodhaven Town Hall – Saturday January 8th

by

The residents of Woodhaven will gather for the first time in 2011 this coming Saturday at 1 PM.  They will meet at the Woodhaven-Richmond Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps (78-15 Jamaica Avenue).  Local residents are urged to attend and share their opinions and feelings on the recent blizzard.

The Woodhaven Residents Block Association is an all-volunteer organization, made up of residents committed to advocating on behalf of the residents of Woodhaven, promotes neighborhood spirit by bringing together residents and local leaders, and seeks to engage all in the betterment of our community.

Recently, the WRBA has asked residents to volunteer as Block Captains — this will provide a better communications network between our community and those that can render assistance in an emergency.  So far, so good — but we have a long way to go — the map of Woodhaven below shows which streets are covered so far — the ones in red.

In an emergency — last week’s blizzard being an example — we will be able to provide a complete picture of what condition our neighborhood is in.  Instead of people scattered here and there, getting frustrated — we’ll act as a community.

Interested in being a Block captain — send an e-mail to info@woodhaven-nyc.org

We hope to see you this Saturday —
