Update: Charter School Hearing June 7th

** Please note that this public hearing is cancelled and will be rescheduled in August.  We apologize for any inconvenience **

There is a public hearing on Monday, June 7th at 5:30 PM about a newly proposed charter school that was submitted to the Department of Education. This applicant hopes to serve Community School District #27 (of which Woodhaven is a part of). If you wish to speak, arrive at 5:00 PM for the speaker sign in.

The hearing will take place at the CSD #27 District Office, located at 82-01 Rockaway Boulevard, 2nd Floor, in Ozone Park. This public hearing is open to anyone interested in learning about the proposed charter school application for the Community Center School for Success. This application is being considered by the New York City Department of Education.

Speaker comments are welcomed — however, as noted above, speakers must register. Written comments will also be collected on the day of the hearing and can be submitted via e-mail to charterschools@schools.nyc.gov.

Recently, Assemblyman Mike Miller was a guest on Project Woodhaven On The Air and discussed what charter schools are, how they work, etc.
