Next Town Hall – Saturday February 13

by

The Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association will hold its’ next Town Hall meeting this coming Saturday, February 13th, at 1 PM.  It will be held, as always, at the Woodhaven Volunteer Ambulance Corps, at 78-15 Jamaica Avenue.  This will be our last Saturday meeting — starting in March we will be moving our meetings back to the 3rd Wednesday evening of the month.

Recently, Woodhaven has found itself the target of budget cuts — the J and Z Train, the Q56, a local firehouse — all of them have found themselves in the crosshairs.  We’ll be covering this and other important issues to Woodhaven Residents.

Without the support of the residents, organizations like the WRBA tend to wither and die.  We’ve got a good base of support — but we really need more folks showing up at our Town Halls.  If you’re a resident and you’re concerned about your neighborhood — come on down.  And bring a neighbor!

It’s not easy getting folks to contribute. Heck, it’s tough enough to get people to commit to even coming to a meeting, much less the real work that needs to be done. Even getting people to commit to 3 hours a month is close to impossible, Christine.

And your suggestion is …. get rid of the people that *do* commit themselves to spending time making this neighborhood better?

    Because they’re over 60??
